Power Skiving of Small Gears

Planetary gearboxes with involute as well as non-involute profiles and module dimensions smaller 0.8 mm are increasingly used in gearboxes in robotics and electric drives. Power Skiving is an innovative cutting process for the production of internal gears and sun shafts with limited runout. In many cases, quality of power-skived ring gears is superior to shaped or broached results. In addition, Hard Power Skiving with its high quality finish is a cost-effective alternative to traditional finishing processes.
