Workholding for Small Series Production and Prototyping
Gleason offers several styles of clamping equipment that specifically cater to small batch and prototype production. These can be quickly modified to accommodate varying sizes of gears and pinions.
Flex-Grip® for Pinions
Designed for pinion machining and prototyping, this universal contracting collet system utilizes replaceable components to center and clamp on pinion shank diameters that range from 35 to 55 mm.
Modular Workholding for Small Job Lots
Gleason expanding bushings are workpiece specific clamping devices available in standard and special sizes that can meet a wide variety of applications and spindle configurations. The modular system is designed as a system with interchangeable components that can accomodate a range of bores with the change of a collet and backing ring.
Face Clamping Fixtures
Traditional face clamping fixtures are suited for standard machining tasks and/or prototype production. Optionally, face clamping fixtures are available with pressurized centering and flat clamping.
One Mandrel, Many Applications
Gleason LeCount® Production "G" (Grinding) Mandrels bring the same performance to the production floor as their metrology counterparts, with a wide expansion range, high accuracy and robust clamping capability. Bore sizes range from 17.00 to 96.00 mm (0.670 - 3.80") with accuracies and repeatability of 0.005 mm (0.0002") TIR.
Custom Solutions
We offer a variety of custom solutions for unique requirements and applications. These solutions can range from rigid mandrels with a centering element to a direct drive option utilizing clamping drivers, solid centering and pot chucks.
