The advanced training deals with the modeling, analysis and optimization of coaxial bearing shaft systems. Participants will learn about the theories underlying the calculation methods, how to build models and select settings, and how to interpret the results in result windows and protocols.

This course is aimed at engineers with basic knowledge on shaft and bearing calculations. It is assumed that participants already know the user interface and the KISSsoft® shaft editor, either by using the software or by attending a basic training.

Date and Time

The training takes place in 2 consecutive sessions.

For participants in Europe:
October 16, 2024: CET 2:30 pm - 6:00 pm (Brussels)
October 17, 2024: CET 2:30 pm - 6:00 pm (Brussels)

For participants in parts of the Americas:
October 16, 2024: EDT 8:30 am - 12:00 pm (New York)
October 17, 2024: EDT 8:30 am - 12:00 pm (New York)

Topics

The influence of the inner geometry of the rolling bearings, clearances and thermal influences are considered. It is shown how this has an impact on the shaft deformation and the load distribution in the rolling bearings.
Modifications of rolling element geometry and the influence on contact stresses are discussed. Stresses inside the rolling bearing rings are calculated and the stress distribution on the raceway is illustrated.
Natural frequencies, critical speeds, forced vibrations is another part of the topics presented.
The module specific settings and their influence as well as the bearing databases and the management of bearing data are also discussed in detail.

For detailed information, please see the training program.

Notebook
You will need a notebook to actively participate in the training course. It is advantageous to have 2 screens, but this is not a prerequisite.

Please pay attention to the hardware and software requirements of the current Release
