Plunge feed rates are used for the Uniflex specific heel plunge without swing.
Instead of end chip amounts, the heel plunge requires a plunge feedrate which
ramps down as the blades are more engaged in the slot.

As first plunge feed rate 600mm/min are recommended.

As second plunge feed rate 300mm/min are recommended.

As third plunge feed rate 150mm/min are recommended.

Power in excess of idle will limit the maximal power draw and abort the cycle
if the input value is exceeded.

Mounting distance holdback is a feature, for example used during flank form
development. A holdback of 0.5mm would produce a part which can be meas-
ured with a 0.5mm larger mounting distance in a CMM (if the edge reductions
on the top are sufficient). Then the G-AGE corrections can be applied to the
same part cut a second time, now with a holdback of 0.25mm. After measuring
the corrected surface with a mounting distance increase of 0.25mm on the
CMM, a second correction can be applied without wasting any part.

                                                                             ®
Triple rotation is specific to Uniflex with a Coniflex Plus cutter. If triple rota-
tion is turned on, a heel plunging is done in the first rotation for all slots. The
second rotation will then generate all the first flanks, and the third rotation gen-
erates the second flank. This process arrangement results in an improved in-
                   dexing quality of the gear.

In order to activate the index compensation side 1 and/or side 2 the amount
of total indexing error is entered with the opposite sign. After a number is en-
tered in either of these two items, additional input items become visible. Those
are the number of teeth for fast compensation and the percentage of the fast
compensation from the total compensation. The principle is analogous to a cut-
ter or grinding wheel wear correction.

The draw rod transducer is turned “on” in case of production workholding. It
can be turned “off” in case of workholding with solid centering. If the transducer
is turned on, a clamp and unclamp teaching has to be performed identical to
regular spiral bevel and hypoid gear machining.

Unload position is an option. If the option is not available, or if the option is
available but is turned off, the machine will just withdraw the tool in the index
position after finishing all slots, stop the tool spindle rotation and open the ma-
chine doors. In case unload position is turned on, 4 additional input items for X,
