At this point, a confirmation button is pressed and the angular discrepancy be-
tween the nominal A-axis position and the manually found upper contact posi-
tion is divided by 2 and the result is added as an offset to the A-axis zero posi-
tion:
AMachine = APart Program + (AUpper Nominal – AUpper Manually Found)/2
The grinding wheel is then moved manually by hand-wheel or jogging from the
slot. It is recommended to rotate the A-axis first by a small amount in positive
direction to free up the wheel from the flank and then move the X-axis in posi-
tive direction (out), see Figure 42.
After the grinding wheel is in a save position, the soft key “Teach Stock Divid-
er” is pressed, which activates the standard stock divider teaching routine. The
A-axis rotates into the new offset position and the stock divider probe learns
