It is important to record the single flank and FFT results as well as the level from a
dB(A) meter for the initial trial (Figure 2). If the results from the first iteration are
improved versus the initial trial, then a second iteration with the input items in Fig-
ure 5 should be conducted. The input item MF2 remains equal to 0.030mm and
MF3 and MF4 are entered with 0.010mm. If the results of the second iteration im-
prove, then some further intuitive fine tuning with trial and error can be added.

If the results from the first and second iteration do not improve single flank, FFT
and dB(A) results versus the baseline, then it is recommended to try the parame-
ters in Figure 6. The MF2 A-axis correction is set to zero and MF3 and MF4 are
entered with 0.010mm. In addition, the pressure angle change MF5 is entered with
0.005°.

In the case of an improvement after the third iteration step, a further intuitive fine-
tuning should follow to achieve the best possible result.
