The second level MicroForm modification method is the generating roll modifica-
tion function on each single tooth along the path of contact (Figure 3). The follow-
ing three functions are possible:

· First order function

· Third order function

· Sinusoidal function

Because at the center of roll, the function must be zero, a second order function or
a normal distribution would not work. For MF7 and MF8 the toe and heel roll posi-
tions from the grinding summary can be entered. For the heel and toe dwell posi-
tion, 5° is a good starting point. The dwell prevents that at the measurement point
for tooth spacing has any MicroForm corrections. For the items MF11 to MF14,
1.0 should be entered.
