8.7 Practical Examples
The first example shows a ring gear with a 0.7mm wide chamfer. The chamfer-
ing time of this part was 35 seconds, in addition to the cutting time.

The second example is a topland chamfered pinion, which also has a chamfer
which is 0.7mm wide. The chamfering time for the pinion was 25 seconds.
