The angle in a plane of rotation of a circular peripheral-mill cutter between the sharpening plane and a radial line from the tip of the cutting edge of the cutter blade to the cutter axis. For a face-mill cutter it is the angle between an axial plane containing the blade tip and the blade front face, measured in a plane parallel to the cutter axis and perpendicular to said axial plane (see also Axial Rake Angle).<\/div>
