These have straight tapering teeth which, if extended, would meet their respective axes. Like spur gears, all lines of contact between mating teeth are in the direction of the teeth. Contact occurs instantaneously along the whole length of these teeth when they come into engagement. These gears are the simplest form of bevel gear, and they perform quite well when their use is confirmed to low speed drives.<\/div>
