Gleason method for generating straight bevel gears using interlocking disk cutters. Coniflex tool and cutting method allow to create a crowning in face width direction of the straight bevel gear teeth. Initially the cutting edges of the upper and lower cutter represent the side wall planes of the trapezoidal generating rack or channel, while rotating. The introduction of the so call dish angle changes the planes to internal cone surfaces, which generate the said length crowning.<\/div>
