Hob Inspection Software

M&M's new hob program offers comprehensive automatic inspection of A, N, I and K-type hob geometry including:

• OD run-out of tooth tips
• OD run-out of hubs (axial and radial)
• Flute index and lead
• Rake
• Thread lead
• Profile
• Axial cam
• Line of action
• Tooth thickness

Tests Performed:

Line of action test can be selected for even dispersion across the face width of the hob.

Run-out of hub diameter, hub face and hob O.D.

Thread lead, either over the cutting edge or on the tooth flank.

Profile in the axial or base plane. Includes over the cutting edge and on the tooth flank capability.

Thread spacing based upon lead test results.

Sharpening characteristics including rake, flute spacing, and flute lead.

Tooth Thickness

Analysis Capability:

Profile evaluates and prints tip modification deviation and maximum protuberance.

Plotting
M&M Hob Inspection Software offers real time charting during inspection and multiple charts per page format, including high-resolution mode charting of up to four charts per page. Customize formats are possible using the available REPLOT functions. Selectable data summary page contains only the numeric test results. Chart printing can be delayed, either automatically or via the user selectable plotting functions, until all the tests are complete.

System Requirements
IBM compatible PC ­ 486 66 MHz or faster.
16 Megabytes of system RAM.
5 Megabytes of available space on the system hard drive.
HT Basic version 4.2 or later.
Note that if a single setup is necessary for automatic inspection of both flute and thread type tests, the optional M&M rotary probe or 3D probe is required.
