1912 the Company Mikron located in Biel/Bienne (CH) builds the first hobbing machine for the manufacturing of cylindrical gears. This achievement leads to the beginning of the company’s story of success.
1985 the first CNC controlled hobbing machines are introduced to the market. The machine types A15, A25 and A35 are still in operation in many plants and prove the extraordinary quality and long-life cycle of these machines.
1994 the gear department of Mikron AG is sold to the company Hermann Pfauter GmbH, Ludwigsburg. At the same time the branch of Pfauter Maschinenfabrik GmbH is founded in Switzerland.
1997 the Hermann Pfauter GmbH is taken over by the American Gleason Group. Hence the company name is changed to Gleason-Pfauter Maschinenfabrik.
Gleason-Pfauter brings the new models P60 and P90 on the market hence replacing the older machines. 15 years later both models are still successful on the market thanks to continuing development.
2005 due to the great demand of our products, the space in the existing plant in Biel/Bienne becomes no longer sufficient. Hence the business location is relocated to Studen, where larger floor space and modern infrastructure are available, allowing further growth of our company.
2007 the production of the P210L machines is taken over from our parent company in Ludwigsburg. With this step Gleason-Pfauter Studen becomes the center of excellence for horizontal machines within the Gleason Group.
2009 the “Agilus” multifunctional machine is introduced to the market. This ground-breaking innovation allows turning, drilling, hobbing and chamfering with one single clamping device.
Today the branch of Gleason-Pfauter GmbH in Studen counts 80 employees, producing yearly more than 70 machines and still on an expansion path.
