Rebuilding Services
A properly rebuilt machine can produce gears to today's quality standards with a smaller capital investment than buying a new machine. Unlike used machines dealers that lack the resources to go beyond correcting obvious faults and doing a cosmetic cleanup, The Gleason Works has both the experience and the tools (special gages, fixtures, etc.) it takes to ensure that your rebuilt Gleason machine provides long-term performance, with sustained accuracies.
We rebuild straight and spiral bevel generators, hobbers, gear grinders, lappers, testers, quenching machines, cutter sharpeners, and other types...and we offer three levels of rebuild to meet varying requirements.

The Gleason Works utilizes its extensive in-house gear technology expertise and machine resources to provide gear engineering, batch production and related services to the gear industry.

Gear Manufacturing
Gear hobbing, grinding, lapping, heat treatment; long spline hobbing (up to 36"); clutch cutting. We produce high reduction hypoids (HRH), worms and worm wheels, and specialty gears. We are also one of the few sources for curvic masters and laser-controlled thread grinding.
Tooling and Workholding Design and Build
(for gear-making processes) Design and build.
Blade sharpening
Gear Inspection Services including surface finish checking and advanced gear metrology.
Engineering and Pre-Production Services
Gear engineering and drawing; bevel gear development (including summary calculations); summary conversions (machine-to-machine, etc.); reverse engineering of cylindrical or bevel gears, and curvics; gear process consultation.
